Eleven thousand people took part in the Little Rock Marathon. For Jarrod Woodley the race wasn't just about finishing, it was a test of faith. Woodley ran the half marathon last year. Today, he's ready to take on the full. He says getting to this point, cost him half his body but he gained trust, faith and a stronger relationship with God."In order to get healthy I gave myself a goal so that if I ran the marathon, I knew that I would stay healthy and that was my goal." Muslim Sept. 11 responder deserves hero's honor
Mohammad Salman Hamdani died trying to save others. He was following through on what he was trained to do as an emergency medical technicianand a New York City police cadet. His sacrifice is especially poignant because he was Muslim and he died in the wreckage of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Yarnell's celebrates Arkansas comeback
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Gov. Mike Beebe is joining Yarnell's officials on Thursday morning to celebrate the return of the Arkansas-based ice cream company.
The Searcy-based ice cream producer laid off 200 workers and halted production in June after nearly 80 years of business. It was acquired by Chicago snack food supplier Schulze & Burch Biscuit Co. earlier this year for $1.3 million. The company reopened the Yarnell's plant and is using original recipes and some former employees.
Yarnell's was known for its Arkansas-inspired ice cream flavors and names. Full Story
